Hola a todos! While it is unfortunate that ELDB Callaway is not able to attend International Day in Bemidji, MN, we are having a great time here this Friday. It is a beautiful day here – the beach is open, there are a couple of sports games going on at the moment, and the “Rincón Gitano” is currently popping popcorn (palomitas) for the kids.

For lunch the kids ordered pizzas by cabin and had a picnic outside. We’re all thankful for an extended siesta for some needed rest and relaxation (and packing for the two weekers!)

Tonight we will enjoy the final episode of the Telenovela (soap opera) acted out by the counselors. Shhh! Don’t tell the villagers, but it will end in a wedding, and tonight’s banquet will serve as the wedding reception followed by a dance. Since we can’t show off our impressive International Day performance that we’ve been planning and practicing all week, we will perform it today for our village and hopefully videotape it.

On the last day of charlas, the language learning groups prepared skits to share with each other. The two weekers also “graduated” today, and received certificates acknowledging their hard work and participation in our program. Tomorrow at 10am we will have a parents program for SC32 families. Hope you can join us!
